Hello, I'm Heather

My journey with plants began in my childhood, tending to my dad's vegetable garden and my mom's stunning perennial borders.

I deepened my love for horticulture during my time at the University of Utah, where I had the incredible opportunity to work at Red Butte Gardens. There, I honed my skills in horticulture and landscape maintenance. My volunteer work with Tree Utah, Wasatch Community Gardens, and the Utah Native Plant Society solidified my commitment to nature, sustainability, and community involvement.

My professional journey led me to Jordan Valley Water's Conservation Garden, where I delved into the world of Xeriscaping, learning the art of creating beautiful landscapes that thrive with minimal water. This passion inspired me to earn a professional master's degree from Utah State University in Horticulture, specializing in low-water landscaping.

Following my master's, I worked with the Utah Conservation Districts, collaborating with farmers and ranchers on water and soil conservation projects across the Wasatch Front. This experience deepened my understanding of sustainable land management.

A move to Oregon introduced me to a new array of plants and methods for harnessing rain to create lush landscapes. While my three young boys attended school, I managed their school garden and taught elementary students the joys of gardening through hands-on lessons.

After the pandemic, my family relocated to Centennial, CO, bringing me back to my roots in low-water landscaping. I'm thrilled to work with the incredible plants that thrive in Colorado's arid, high-mountain environment. My mission is to help you design and maintain stunning, water-efficient landscapes that meet your goals and enhance the natural beauty of your surroundings.

Let's work together to create a low-water landscape that you will love!
